A level of ground disturbance has already occurred in the development area with the construction of the current and former buildings and hard standing. Landscaping, agricultural and horticultural works will also have impacted on the potential for the survival of archaeological deposits. The inherent disturbance of farmyards gives no reason to think archaeological remains will be present at Allerds Farm. The proposed development at Allerds Farm will be a vast improvement to the appearance and setting of the Grade II listed barn.
